Sedwick sale 27, lot 940

This specimen was lot 940 in Sedwick Treasure Auction 27 (Winter Park, FL, May 2020), where it sold for $386.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Cuba, silver proof PIEFORT 10 pesos, 1990, Eleventh Pan American Games (Havana, 1991) - High Jump, NGC PF 66 Ultra Cameo, ex-Rudman. Incipient toning, minor cloudiness but otherwise perfect, struck in extra thickness (piefort). NGC #5715541-016 (extra-thick slab). Pedigreed to the Isaac Rudman numismatic cabinet." This is one of a series of sports-releated NCLT's issued for the eleventh Pan-American Games in 1991 in Havana. Altho we have catalogued this using the regular issue SCWC number, it is actually a piefort.

Recorded mintage: 25,000 (not including the pieforts).

Specification: 28 g, 0.925 fine silver.

Catalog reference: piefort: KM-unlisted; otherwise KM-291.
