This specimen was lot 46066 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Costa Mesa, CA, August 2021), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "SOUTH AFRICA. 6 Pence, 1924. PCGS AU-53 Gold Shield. A wholesome coin with honest, even wear, some bright luster in the protected areas, and light gray toning that exhibits some faint iridescence." The sixpence was struck in South Africa 1923-60. This type varied from later issues (KM 16.1, struck 1925-30) by a numeric reverse instead of a protea flower.

Catalog reference: KM-A16.
