This specimen was lot 23196 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $432. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. Tuscany. Lira, 1803. NGC MS-63. A pleasing example of this one year type with deep olive tone over glossy fields that display few heavy marks. Rarely seen on the market. Ex: Heritage sale 3006 (Long Beach, September 2009), Lot #22534." This scarce type was struck again in 1806 (C-47.2).
