This copper 2½ centavos piece was minted in Santiago, Chile, in 1904-08. We don't know why this coin was deemed to be necessary when a copper two centavos of very similar design was issued 1878-94.
Recorded mintage: 277,000.
Specification: 7 g, copper, 25 mm diameter.
