Sincona sale 80, lot 2634

This specimen was lot 2634 in Sincona sale 80 (Zurich, October 2022), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY | Republik, 50 Euro 2003, Roma. Auf die europäische Kunst. Österreich [On European Art--Austria]. Only 6,000 pieces struck. Choice Proof. In original box with certificate." This NCLT was part of a shortlived series (2003-10) honoring European art, in this case Gustav Klimt. It was struck to the standard of a fifty lire from before World War One.

Recorded mintage: 6,000 proofs.
