Sweden 1562 daler Dav-8701
This specimen was lot 30259 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $8,812.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "High-Grade Classic Swedish Rarity Eric XIV Daler 1562, Stockholm mint, XF45 NGC. A most impressive example of this rare daler with fine gray patina and well-struck details. The only flaw is a light old-time scratch on the coat of arms on the reverse, barely noticeable. A classic rarity in the Swedish series and highly elusive in this superior quality." Davenport lists this for 1561-63.
