This specimen was lot 10088 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2025), where it sold for €960 (about US$1,001). The catalog description[1] noted, "DENMARK. 8 Skilling, 1608. Copenhagen Mint. Christian IV. NGC EF-45. Appealing luster. From the L. E. Bruun Collection." This type was struck 1606-09 and was worth one twelfth speciedaler. Another eight skilling (KM 32.4) was struck at the Helsingør (Elsinore) mint. Christian IV (r. 1588-1648) had a long but only moderately successful reign. His war with Sweden and his intervention in the Thirty Years War were costly and brought little gain.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 2.92 g, 0.888 fine silver, 25 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM-32.3; Hede-93A; Sieg-54.2; Schou-42; Bruun-4757.
