This specimen was lot 30982 in Heritage sale 3029 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $2,232.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Carl XII 2 Mark 1714-LC, MS64 NGC. A truly remarkable coin with exceptionally sharp design features and nearly full original mint brilliance. Very rare in this elite grade and perhaps the finest we have seen. Ex: 'Colonel' E.H.R. Green; Green Estate' Partnership of Eric P Newman/B.G. Johnson." This silver two mark was struck in Sweden 1709-17 in the closing stages of the Great Northern War when Sweden was losing and the government bankrupt.
