Sincona sale 77, lot 3509

This specimen was lot 3509 in Sincona sale 77 (Zurich, May 2022), where it sold for 2,095 CHF (about US$2,543 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"AUSTRALIEN. Elisabeth II. seit 1952. 100 Dollars 2013. Year of the Snake. Feingewicht: 31.12 Gramm. Polierte Platte.Choice Proof. Im Originaletui mit Zertifikat.e. (commonwealth of Australia, Elizabeth II, since 1952, one hundred dollars of 2013, Year of the Snake. In original box with certificate.)"

In 2013, this denomination was used to issue KM 1731 (platypus), 1837 (shown here), 1956 (kangaroo road sign), 1973 (year of the snake), 1983 (koala), 1992 (kangaroo), 2003 (year of the snake), KM 2024 (kangaroo), 2048 (koala), 2079 (treasures of Europe), 2084 (kangaroo), 2094 (year of the snake, in color), 2135 (birth of prince George) and 2157 (year of the snake). Most are one ounce gold coins. Lacking photos in the SCWC, identification is tentative.
