Bavaria 1913 3 mark

This specimen is a pattern by Karl Goetz. This example is silver plated copper but silver and copper examples also exist. The solid silver patterns are the most valuable. Goetz also produced patterns for the two, five, ten and twenty mark. The Bavarian mint in Munich eventually accepted one of Goetz's designs (KM 520) for the obverse of the three mark but continued with the conventional eagle on the reverse.
