This specimen was lot 12023 in Ponterio sale 177 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $7,638. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOLIVIA. 8 Escudos, 1847-R. NGC MS-62. Small laureate. Bust right. Nice strike. Ex: Millennia Collection." This type was struck 1841-47 and is not rare but usually found impaired.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 27 g, 0.875 fine gold, .758 troy oz AGW.
