This specimen was lot 4143 in Stack's-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $822.50. The catalog description[2] noted, "NETHERLANDS. Kingdom of Holland. Ducat, 1806. PCGS MS-64 Secure Holder. Small date." Louis Napoleon was briefly the ruler of the Kingdom of Holland 1806-10. When he showed signs of independent thinking, his brother Napoleon evicted him and annexed the kingdom to the empire of France.
Recorded mintage: 794,000 struck at Utrecht.
