Zurich 1640 thaler Dav-4639
This specimen was lot 2907 in Sincona sale 11 (Zurich, May 2013), where it sold for 400 CHF (about US$495 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SCHWEIZ Zürich Stadt Taler 1640. Bläuliche Patina. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Zurich, thaler of 1640, bluish patina, very fine to extremely fine.)"
This type is listed for 1640 and 1645 and the 1640 is reasonably common for a Swiss thaler.
