Chur 1633 dicken
This specimen was lot 1677 in Sincona sale 76 (Zürich, May 2022), where it sold for 3,200 CHF (about US$3,884 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"SWITZERLAND | Grisons | Chur, Bistum. Dicken 1633, Chur. Selten, besonders in dieser Erhaltung. Vorzüglich. NCG AU53. (Switzerland, bishopric of Chur, dicken of 1633, Chur mint. Rare, especially in this condition, Extremely fine.)"
Chur, among with the rest of Switzerland, left the Empire in 1648 as part of the Treaty of Westphalia which ended the Thirty Years War. The city arms feature a leaping ibex. This type is listed in the SCWC as a 24 kreuzer (one-third thaler).
