Austria 1714-A thaler Dav-1107
This specimen was lot 4753 in Künker sale 335 (Osnabrück, Germany, March 2020), where it sold for €650 (about US$851 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH. Karl VI. 1711-1740. Reichstaler 1714, Augsburg. Justiert, sehr schön. (Holy Roman Empire, Charles VI, 1711-40, thaler of 1714, Augsburg mint. Adjustment marks, very fine.)"
This type was minted at the Augsburg mint 1713-14 while it was occupied by the Austrians during the War of the Spanish Succession. It is the only Austrian thaler from this mint. Most thalers of Charles VI are common but this is quite scarce.
