A styled image of Gemini with stars around it is depicted, and its Sign of Zodiac above it." The hryvnia was introduced in 1996 to supersede the Karbovanets (1 hryvnia = 100,000 karbovanetsiv). Its sign is "₴". At present (June 2026), US$1 = 45.07 hryven. NCLT's featuring Aries, Taurus and Gemini were issued in 2006 and Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, Scorpio and Sagittarius in 2007.
