Steve Album sale 54, lot 1836

This specimen was lot 1836 in Steve Album Auction 54 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2026), where it sold for $156. The catalog description[1] noted, "ALGIERS: Mustafa III, 1757-1774, AR 1/4 budju, AH1173, a rarely offered type, VF, ex Landon Thomas Collection, ex Künker Auction 210 Lot 1271." This type was struck AH 1173-1188 and is quite scarce in collectible condition. Another variety, KM 26 (octagon on reverse), was struck AH 1172-1173. The state of Algiers survived mostly by piracy.

Specification: 2.35-3.31 g, silver, this specimen 2.61 g.
