This specimen was lot 31130 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $24,000. The catalog description[1] noted, "Ferdinand III gold 2 Ducat 1648-KB MS62 NGC, Kormoczbanya mint. Currently, the finest graded of the date by NGC, this dazzling near-choice specimen yields incredibly lustrous surfaces and an enchanting golden-orange tone. A scarcer double denomination and incredibly difficult to encounter this pleasing." This type was struck 1641-54 and is listed as one of the more available double ducats of Hapsburg Hungary.
