Aureo y Calicó sale 422, lot 3173

This specimen was lot 3173 in Aureo y Calicó sale 422 (Barcelona, December 2023), where it sold for 35 € (about US$45 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Australia. 2000. Isabel II. 1 dólar. Kookaburra. AG. S/C [uncirculated]." This one ounce bullion coin is made and marketed to compete with the Canadian maple leaf, the US silver eagle, the Mexican libertad and other one ounce bullion coins. The reverse is usually changed every year. Some years have special privy marks which were only available at certain coin shows.
