The first specimen was part of lot 31251 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), which sold for $14,100. The catalog description^[1] noted, "George V silver 5-Piece Proof Set 1933, 3 Pence - PR65 NGC, KM1, 6 Pence - PR66 NGC, KM2, Shilling - PR66 NGC, KM3, Florin - PR66 NGC, KM4, 1/2 Crown - PR67 NGC, KM5, KM-PS1. A stunning, matched set with lightly dappled, silvery-gray patina over nicely-reflective fields. This is quite possibly a unique opportunity to own the first-issued Proof Set of New Zealand in this deluxe quality, as there are only 20 in existence." New Zealand used sterling coinage until her conversion to decimal coinage in 1967 (the same year as Great Britain and Australia). This type was struck 1933-36 and this date is common. The reverse depicts Maori war clubs.

Recorded mintage: 6,000,000 plus about 20 proofs.

Specification: 1.41 g, 0.500 fine silver, 16.3 mm diameter.
