Sincona sale 33, lot 3218

This specimen was lot 3218 in Sincona sale 33 (Zürich, October 2016), where it sold for 250 CHF (about US$297 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"RUMÄNIEN. Carol I. 1866-1914 2 Lei 1894. Brüssel. Gutes vorzüglich. (Romania, Carol I, 1866-1914, two lei of 1894. Brussels mint. Good extremely fine.)"

This type is noted for 1894 and 1900 and is fairly expensive in nice condition.

Recorded mintage: 600,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 10 g, 0.835 fine silver, 27 mm diameter, this specimen 9.98 g.
