This specimen was lot 3152 in Sincona sale 20 (Zürich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 2,600 (about US$3,258 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Peca 1835. Lissabon. Fast vorzüglich-vorzüglich. (choice extremely fine.)" The peça, originally a 6400 réis piece, was raised to 7500 réis in 1825 and struck in that form until 1835. In 1836, the coinage was reformed and made decimal. Other peças exist for Maria II but are much rarer.
