Sincona sale 90, lot 1015

This specimen was lot 1015 in Sincona sale 90 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 20,000 CHF (about US$26,428 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"DEUTSCHLAND Brandenburg-Preussen, Markgrafschaft, 1417 Kurfürstentum, Friedrich Wilhelm, 1640-1688. Dukat 1686, Berlin. Goldausbringen in Guinea. Guinea-Dukat. Mit der Münzmeistersigantur LCS (Lorenz Christoph Schneider, Münzmeister in Berlin 1682-1701). Äusserst selten. NGC AU55. Exemplar der Auktion Künker 300, Berlin, Februar 2018, Los 46. (Germany, electorate of Brandenburg, Frederick WIlliam, 1640-88, "guinea" ducat of 1686, Berlin mint. Extremely rare, about uncirculated.)"
