Sincona sale 91, lot 3122

This specimen was lot 3122 in Sincona sale 91 (Zürich, May 2024), where it sold for 1,200 CHF (about US$1,586 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SCHWEIZ Bern, Stadt und Kanton, Batzen 1619, Bern. Sehr selten. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Switzerland, canton of Bern, batzen of 1619, Bern mint. Very rare, Very fine-extremely fine.)"

This type was struck 1617-23 and undated. The 1619 is the only scarce date altho all are rare in choice condition.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: billon or silver, this specimen 2.34 g.
