This specimen was lot 3740 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 3,000 CHF (about US$4,015 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "TURKEY, Republik, seit 1923. 500 Piaster 1966, Ankara. Kemal Atatürk. Luxus-Prägung. Gutes vorzüglich (Monnaie de luxe, Good extremely fine)." This monnaie de luxe was struck 1942-2021 for use in jewelry. It is wider and thinner than the 500 kurush struck for bullion. It is not known circulated.
