Künker sale 386, lot 5524

This specimen was lot 5524 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €500 (about US$646 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"KAISERREICH ÖSTERREICH, Ferdinand I. 1835-1848. Konv.-Taler 1844, A, Wien. Sehr attraktives Exemplar mit feiner Patina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (empire of Austria, Ferdinand I, 1835-48, convention thaler of 1844, Vienna mint. Very attractive example with fine patina, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"

This type was struck 1837-48 at Vienna ("A") and Milan ("M") but is only scarce. Thalers were struck to this weight standard until 1852.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 28.06 g, 0.833 fine silver, this specimen 27.99 g.
