Stack's Bowers 2023 NYINC sale, lot 40585

This specimen was lot 40585 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $600. The catalog description[1] noted, "BARBADOS. 100 Dollars, 1985-FM. PCGS PROOF-69 Deep Cameo. Amphitrite, wife of Neptune, dominates the obverse, reverse coat of arms." The previous year's issue featured Triton, the son of Neptune. The Franklin Mint left the coinage business about this time and the series ended.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 6.21 g, 0.500 fine gold, 0.100 troy oz AGW.
