This specimen was lot 21262 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Las Vegas, August 2020), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Extremely Rare Reichskreditkassen Type. GERMANY. Third Reich. 10 Pfennig, 1940-D. Munich Mint. PCGS EF-45. Reichs Loans (Reichskreditkassen) series. One of the RAREST in the "Reichs Loans" occupation series, this example does exhibit some typical discoloration of the zinc, but nevertheless presents little evidence of any actual wear and handling. Very seldom seen in the marketplace, and a historically important specimen from the middle of World War II." This type was struck 1940-41 for use in Nazi-occupied territories. All the dates are scarce to rare except the 1940-A. KM-101 represents the civilian issue struck at the same time.
Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.
Specification: zinc.
