This coin was minted in Mexico City as the final year of a type struck 1951-54. The earlier dates are very common and trade as bullion coins but this one is scarce; however, enough were saved that the coin is available for a price. The bust is of Miguel Hidalgo, martyr of the struggle for independence from Spain. The following year the coin was reduced in size (KM 469).

Recorded mintage: 30,000.

Specification: 27.78 g, 0.720 fine silver, .643 troy oz ASW, 40 mm diameter, edge lettered COMERCIO - AGRICULTURA - INDUSTRIA.
