This copper coin was issued from Barcelona for use there and in Catalonia. It was issued 1836-46 and accompanied by a copper six cuartos. In the local currency, three cuartos = 1/40 peso. This coin is not common but priced rather low in the SCWC. The last local Catalan issue is a rare six cuartos dated 1848, after which regular Spanish coinage was used.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 6.6 g g, copper, 26 mm diameter.
