This specimen was lot 1452 in Stephen Album sale 50 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $540. The catalog description[1] noted, "AFGHANISTAN: Habibullah, 1901-1919, AV tilla, NM (struck at Kabul), AH1320, toughra in wreath, date below, country name above // mosque and crossed arms within wreath, UNC, R, ex Hakim Hamidi Collection." Milled coinage was introduced to Afghanistan during the reign of Abdur Rahman (1880-1901). This type was struck AH 1320 only.
Recorded mintage: unknown but rare.
Specification: 4.6 g, gold, 21 mm diameter, this specimen 4.57 g.
