This specimen was lot 1310 in Stephen Album sale 27 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE: Louis XV, 1715-1774, AR écu du Béarn au bandeau, 1764. Pau Mint (cow mintmark), issued for Béarn, reverse adjustment marks, About Unc." The Pau mint produced this type 1741-72 and is one of the common mints for the écu au bandeau.

Recorded mintage: 1,724,329.

Specification: silver, 11 deniers (.917 fine), 8.3 pieces to the mark (29.488 g), face value 6 livres, 39 mm diameter. Engraved by Joseph-Charles Röettiers.
