This centavo was struck at the Philadelphia mint of a type issued 1918-21, 1933-38, 1941, 1946-48. It was revived in nickel-plated steel for 1952-58. The earlier dates were struck at the Philadelphia and Denver mints, the later ones in Bogotá, leading to a flurry of repunched date varieties. A copper liberty cap centavo was issued in 1942-51, 1957-66.
Recorded mintage: 3,000,000.
Specification: 2 g, copper-nickel, 17 mm diameter.
