This copper-nickel centavo is the fourth year of the type, which was struck 1918-21, 1933-38, 1941, 1946-48. It was issued to supersede the "papel moneda" coinage of 1902-16 which had depreciated to 1% of its nominal value, the result of civil war and paper money inflation. Most dates are common but this one is slightly scarce.
Recorded mintage: 12,460,000, struck at Denver.
Specification: 2 g, copper-nickel, 17 mm diameter.
Catalog reference: KM 275.
