This specimen was lot 635 in Jean Elsen sale 157 (Brussels, December 2023), where it sold for €130 (about US$168 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"BRABANT, Duché, Charles II (1665-1700), AR escalin, 1700, Anvers. D/ Lion deb. à g., ten. une épée et l'écu ovale d'Autriche-Bourgogne. R/ Ecu couronné sur une croix de Bourgogne. Rare. Nettoyé. Griffe au revers. Très Beau. (duchy of Brabant, Charles II, 1665-1700, silver escalin of 1700, Antwerp mint. Obverse: lion rampant left, bearing a sword and the oval arms of Austria-Burgundy; reverse: crowned arms over a Burgundian cross. Rare, cleaned, scratch on reverse, Very Fine.)"
This type of 1700 closely resembles the previous KM 119.1 of 1698-99.
