This specimen was lot 485 in Ponterio sale 164 (New York, January 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRAZIL. 6,400 Reis (Peca), 1736-R. RARE Date João V (1706-50). VERY RARE date. Nice strike, lustrous. NGC EF-45." This type was struck 1731-50 and is among the more available colonial gold coins of Brazil tho the early dates are rare.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 14.34 g, 0.917 fine gold, .423 troy oz AGW.
