This specimen was lot 30461 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $2,640. The catalog description[1] noted, "João V gold 6400 Reis 1737/6-B XF45 NGC, Bahia mint. A rare example of this fascinating overdate which is not noted in the Standard Catalog of World Coins, LMB or Bentes. Moderately circulated with some rounding at the higher points and significant mint luster remaining. Selections from the Paulistana Collection." This type was struck 1731-50 and is among the more available colonial gold coins of Brazil tho the early dates are rare.
