This specimen was lot 30460 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $2,280. The catalog description[1] noted, "João V gold 6400 Reis 1737-R AU55 NGC, Rio de Janeiro mint, A delightful offering showing a minimum of rub to Joao's portrait in conjunction with gleaming golden fields. From the Santa Cruz Collection." This type was struck 1731-50 and is among the more available colonial gold coins of Brazil tho the early dates are rare.
