This specimen was lot 2206 in Goldberg's NY International sale 59 (New York, January 2023), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "5 Kopecks 1885 CПБ-AГ. Authenticated and graded by NGC MS 65 (# 4231716-009). Gem brilliant uncirculated." The St. Petersburg mint struck both silver (shown here) and copper (KM Y12.2) five kopeks during Alexander's reign. The silver five kopeks were struck in this style 1867-1914 and the copper five kopeks were struck 1867-71, 1876-81 and 1911-12. Neither are rare.
Recorded mintage: 1,700,000, a slightly better date.
Specification: 0.90 g, 0.500 fine silver.
