Jean Elsen sale 131, lot 841

This specimen was lot 841 in Jean Elsen sale 131 (Brussels, December 2016), where it sold for €85 (about US$107 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"ALLEMAGNE, SAXE, Royaume, Friedrich August Ier (1806-1827), AR Taler, 1824S. J. 41; A.K.S. 30; Dav-831. Très Beau. (kingdom of Saxony, Frederick Augustus I (1806-27), silver thaler of 1824, very fine.)"

This is the regular issue of 1824-27 and is common. The auction lot description doesn't seem to match the coin.

Recorded mintage: 546,000.

Specification: 28.06 g, .833 fine silver, .751 troy oz ASW, lettered edge.

Catalog reference: Kahnt 427. Thun 303, Dav-861, KM 1096.
