This specimen was lot 23566 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "POLAND. 2 Zlotych, 1936. NGC MS-64. Struck to commemorate the 15th anniversary of Gdynia Seaport. A gorgeous specimen with brilliant, sparkling cartwheel luster on both sides." When the boundaries of Poland were drawn at the Treaty of Versailles in 1919, the port of Gdansk (Danzig) was not included. Accordingly, the Polish government developed a second port, Gdynia, a few miles away. A five zlotych (KM Y31) was issued on the same occasion. Another two zlote (KM Y27) also exists for 1936.
