The specimen shown was lot 211 in Aureo y Calicó sale 232 (Barcelona, March 2011), where it sold for 2,500 euros (about US$4,165 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Carlos III (1759-1788). 1763. México. MF. 2 escudos. Segundo busto. Tipo ´cara de rata´. Sin indicación de valor. Atractiva. Muy rara. MBC+. (Charles III, 1759-88, two escudos of 1763, Mexico City mint, "rat face" type without denomination. Attractive, very rare thus, choice very fine.)
