Sedwick sale 11, lot 1115

The specimen shown was lot 1115 in Sedwick sale 11 (Winter Park, FL, April 2011), where it sold for $92. The catalog description[1] noted,

"Bogotá, Colombia, 1/2 decimo, 1857. Richly toned AU- (scarce grade) with die-crack through first A of GRANADA."

This half décimo, an early effort at a decimal coinage, was accompanied by a silver one décimo of similar design (KM 115).

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.25 g, 0.900 fine silver, .036 troy oz ASW, this specimen 1.2 grams.

Catalog reference: Restrepo-181.10; KM-114.
