Bolivia 1891 50 centavos rev DSLR.jpg

This silver fifty centavos, roughly equal to a half dollar, was struck in Potosi 1891-1900. It superseded a very similar coin (KM 161.4) issued 1884-91. This type is common tho varieties abound. The catalog mentions subtype KM 161.4 for 1891 but lists it as very rare. Assayer CB is recorded for 1890-94, 1897-99 and assayer ES for 1894-97.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: 11.5 g, 0.900 fine silver, .332 troy oz ASW.

Catalog reference: KM 161.5.
