This specimen was lot 1251 in Classical Numismatic Group's sale of the Lissner Collection (Chicago, August 2014), where it sold for $96.80. The catalog description[1] noted, "BOLIVIA, Republic. 1825-present. AR 10 Centavos. Potosí mint. Fortunato Equivar, assayer. Dated 1874 PTS FE. Reverse legend: DIEZ/CENTs/9Ds.. In NGC encapsulation graded MS 65. Nicely toned gem UNC. Purchased from Pat Johnson, June 1971." This type was struck 1872-75 as part of Bolivia's second decimal coinage. Prior issues of 1870-72 read "LA UNION HACE LA FUERZA" instead of "LA UNION ES LA FUERZA" shown here. This type is common.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 2.3 g, 0.900 fine silver, this specimen Ø17 mm, 2.47 g, 6h axis.
