Sincona sale 23, lot 2925

This specimen was lot 2925 in Sincona sale 23 (Zurich, May 2015), where it sold for 425 CHF (about US$534 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"NIEDERLANDE, Friesland, Provinz, Dukat 1588. Sehr schön-vorzüglich. (Netherlands, province of Friesland, ducat of 1588, very fine to extremely fine.)"

Altho this ducat is noted for 1588-1616, 1619-20, 1626, 1629-40, 1643-57, 1663, 1666-68, 1676 and 1693, it earns a premium as Friesland was a less prolific issuer of coinage.
