This specimen was lot 12474 in Ponterio sale 177 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $44,062. The catalog description[1] noted, "RUSSIA. Ducat, 1739. PCGS EF-45 Secure Holder. Anna Ivanovna (1730-40). VERY RARE." The Russian regime minted ducats on numerous occasions during the eighteenth century but always in small quantities. Survivors are today very rare.
