This specimen was lot 159 in Sincona sale 12 (Zürich, October 2013), where it sold for 3,000 CHF (about US$3,880 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Denga 1739, Ekaterinburg Mint. Novodel. Unknown in Iljin with this edge (only smooth). Heavy die crack, brilliant uncirculated and most attractive." This type is recorded for 1730-54 and is noted as common. The mintage is not known but it is priced lower than later dates with mintages over eighty million. The denomination is written ДЕНГА (denga).
