This specimen was lot 36166 in Heritage sale 3038 (Dallas, January 2015), where it sold for $1,527.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Carol I 2 Lei 1900 MS62 NGC, Light patina with a wonderful eye appeal. Quite scarce." This type of 1894 and 1900 was accompanied by one (KM 26), two (KM 27), five, ten, twenty and fifty bani (KM 23) and one leu (KM 24). This is the scarcest denomination of the group.
Recorded mintage: 87,279.
Specification: 10 g, .835 fine silver, 27 mm diameter.
