Stack's Bowers October 2021 Collector's Choice sale, lot 72218

This specimen was lot 72218 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2021), where it sold for $900. The catalog description[1] noted, "SAN MARINO. 50 Euros, 2005-R. Rome Mint. NGC PROOF-70 Ultra Cameo. Achieving a perfect grade level, this exquisite piece from the Italian microstate of San Marino celebrates International Peace Day." All of San Marino's coinage are NCLT's, minted at Rome out of Italy's allotment of euo coinage.

Recorded mintage: 3,914.

Specification: 16.13 g, 0.900 fine gold, 28 mm diameter, 0.4667 oz AGW.
